One of the drum paddles has broken on my Zanussi ZWD12270W1 (Prod No. 914604028.00). The side of the paddle has shattered with a few pieces broken off.

It looks like 50252271007 (on this website) is the correct part, but I’m not sure how simple it is to swap it?

The machine is only a month old but I’m not sure if this would be covered by warranty and it could be much simpler to swap this myself than take a day off work for an engineer to visit (unless I have to take the drum out!)

I assume the paddle clips in somehow and might need breaking to remove it, but is there any chance that it is held in with a screw from the other side of the drum? Likewise, do I need to fix the replacement part with a screw or does it just clip in?

    Thanks

    Steve

    It is covered under warranty.

    Thanks.

If the part just clips on though it would be much simpler (and actually much cheaper) for me to just swap it myself than take a day off work waiting for an engineer to visit.

Does anyone know whether I can just swap this paddle from the inside of the drum (e.g. by just clipping the new part in) or is it held by a screw from the other side of the drum?

    Thanks

Normally on plastic drum paddles they would clip in,However don’t quote me on it.
I am only basing this on the same method as hotpoint paddles.

For interest, I’ve managed to remove the old paddle, and am just waiting for the new one to come in the post.

By trial and error (and sticking my head into the drum with a torch) it appears that there are two metal lugs underneath the third hole in the paddle (counting from the drum entrance).

Just push a screwdriver through this hole and push the two lugs down a bit (one on the left, and one on the right). You can look through the hole and see that they are flat.

Then slide the paddle towards the front of the drum and squeeze the sides to remove it.
