    Hotpoint EW81G electric cooker. Serial no:- 54 1 00054.

No grill function on full or half grill settings. The grill elements both check out OK for continuity and insulation. The regulator (Strix) is a dual circuit unit and shows signs of overheating, but will still activate the cabinet cooling fan.
The Strix regulator is a OG2004 unit (13A5 228125). The replacement regulator is shown as a Diamond H 48ER101C1 so I fitted this wire for wire from the Strix.
Turned on the grill and pop goes the cooker trip. 😯 Checked and double checked the wiring….there is one wire on each tag…even fitted a 43ER101C1 which is the same as a 48ER except for the nut type mounting plate. Tried it again and it tripped the mains again. Refitted the Strix and back to normal.
I seem to recall having this problem before in the distant past, but I can’t remember how I solved it. 👿
Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this machine? Is the 48ER101C1 a direct swap for the OG2004 Strix or am I missing something obvious?

Any help would be much appreciated!!

    Cheers,

    Steve.
