After a couple of years of sterling service, one of the screws that holds the chassis to the underside of the work top has come loose. This made the door closing to start the washing cycle become progressively harder and harder to start until it stopped working completely.
The switch seems loose as if a holding spring or the pivot mechanism has come adrift. If a screwdriver is used the holding claw can be rotated and a click as if a microswitch has operated can be heard.
If the door is held under pressure, the machine will carry on the cycle as per normal, but there is a slight leak and if the door is opened it carries on running, not stopping like it used to.
Any basic ideas please anyone to overcome this problem?
Regards
Paul.
