3 phase motor thermocouples?

    The modern 3 phase motor incorporates a thermocouple, are they auto-reset or one shot devices does anyone know I wonder?

    Thermocouple? Do you mean thermal cut-out?

    Oh blimey, silly me, wrong word used. 😳

    OK I will now use official Hotpoint/Indesit speak as they refer to their 3 phase motors as having “Thermoprotectors”. Not having taken one apart (yet) I wonder also if they are built into the windings or slot alongside like the TOC’s they use on their more conventional brush motor windings?

    well yes and no .. the toc is strapped to the back end of the coil and can be changed , but the motor is riveted together ,i have never sucseeded to get one to bolt back together again , or run correctly , the stator allways stalls against the field coil 🙁
