I have inherited a Bosch SMS9022GB/14 dishwasher. I don’t have the instruction manual, nor can I find one on the internet.

It won’t complete a cycle & the element does not heat up.

I have checked the filter & all is clear. I have checked the waste pipe & the pipes leaging to the drain.

What I haven’t checked is the grey box that has both the inflow & outflow pipe going into it & is located next to the cold water pipe. What is this box-type thing called? and can it get blocked up?

Apologies for asking a daft question.

the grey box thingy is the inlet valve, as long as it fills with water it wont be that. as for no heat, and iam guessing the machine fills to level and the circulation pump is spraying the water around the system at a good pressure, the most likely fault for no heat is a dry solder joint on the circuit board (the bit behind the push buttons) or heater relay on that board. of coarse there other things like the element itself.
if you are going to look yourself, power off 🙂

    Thanks so much for that.

I’ve tested everything that I can do myself. One problem I have is that I don’t know what it sounds like when it’s working normally – I am not allowed to load it up as I “do it wrong” and the other half always starts the machine just before bedtime. However, its MY machine when it goes wrong 👿

Anyway, I’ve done the decent thing & gone to the @repairs section. I now have a man coming round on Saturday morning.

    I love this site 😀
