Participantif i unplug the thermister on my fridge freezer. My fridge isnt cooling down so opened up the freezer panel and found 2 thermosters on the piping in the freezer. One thermister on a pipe had its wires going into a big bundle of wires in one corner…the other thermister on a different pipe went up into the fridge section somewhere. (this pipe also turns into a really small copper tube and dissapears into the fridge with the thermister wiring). Im thinking of disconnecting the one that goes into the fridge.
reason im thinking of doing this is my fridge could be stuck on “defrost” mode so thought of doing this.
Any ideas?

apologees…this was a generic question but if you can recomend something specific….even better!!! Model number is Beko CGA 9756. Has a concealed evapourater in the fridge section. Freezer pipes were fine with bit if solid ice when freezer panel was removed.
thanks

The module will likely pick up that the thermistor isn’t there and display a fault. After that it probably won’t do anything at all.

Shatz, i would stop obsessing over thermistors – I have fixed plenty of beko f/fs. Almost never thermistors, as stated in other thread it is most likely a system fault. Good luck

apologees if i sound silly asking this…but what is the definition of a system fault???…does it mean an electricle issue with the circuitboard??..is it an easy fix for the engineer? Just trying to get to grips with what it means.

A fault in the refrigeration system, i.e. problem with compressor/pipework/restrictions/loss of refrigerant etc. These are not diy fixable
