Fan oven and grill functions all working but no regulation of temperature
Even after changing the themostat same problem on both grill and fan oven just run full pelt until the thermal cutout comes in.
There is a click from the themostat but the orange neon does not go out anymore.
    Help please

    Is it wired correctly?
    Power off before going in.

Wired exactly the same as the one it replaced and still has the exact same problem thermostat clicks (indicating the temp of the oven) but does not regulate it. The orange neon that used to go out when the oven reached temperature now does not – just runs at full power!

Earth leak on heating element may be a good bet – test meter reqired to find out.

Stay safe – power off first.

    Thanks for the tip!
I dont have earth leakage test gear how ever I pulled and insulated the main oven heating element connections and then tried the grill.
BINGO the thermostat regulated that nicely! and it even worked (taking the neon lamp out) on the oven setting still warm from the grill.
Visual inspection showed one end of the element looking pretty suspect.
Also the fault occurred when using the oven function.
I will order up an new element. already have the old one out.
Many many thanks for your help and fast response I am very impressed.
Came close to throwing it away and buying a new one which seems such a waste. I wonder how many four or five year old ovens are sitting in dumps in similar condition?
Slight down side is I will have to start cooking again!
