ParticipantSeems Masterparts search facility does’nt work too good.
Was after an on/off switch for a Whirlpool AWM324/3.
Tapped in model number and then description of part (on/off switch) and it comes up with nothing. Tried Connect and one other supplier and comes back obselete. So in desperation i order it retail after finding espares stock it. To my surprise when it turns up its in a Masterpart bag with thier part code on it. When i tap that code into Masterparts site up comes the switch described as an “on/off switch” for, among others, model AWM324/3.
Work that one out!Subs

Yes, you often need to do a bit of detective work to find what you want. Bearing kits are always difficult to find because if you do a search on model number it seems to only come up with the genuine parts, not their own pattern parts. Often you need to look up the genuine seal then it gives the Masterpart kit as an alternative.

I only use Masterpart site if I know the part number.
Waste of time otherwise

Waste of time at the moment parts have got the nice green tick beside them to say in stock but when parcel arrives half of it is out of stock. I phoned up to be told that the system only updates itself the following night, but 2 days later it is still showing as in stock. Masterpart need to do something about this as we are losing confidence in them. example ordered a whirlpool part on monday showing in stock promised customer would fit by Thursday, part did not arrive so i phone to be told there was one in stock and it would be with me on Wednesday nothing arrived, phoned Thursday to be told out of stock with no explanation or concern about it. Phoned customer to explain and rebook when i got one from elsewhere and was told not to bother she would get someone else to repair it. Customer lost Thanks to Masterpart

ParticipantHi sorry guys I disagree, it has its faults but compared to the Qualtex or Connect site its brilliant!.
The Qualtex site just shows pictures as does Connect like they are general public based. The Masterpart site strikes me as being alot better and more suited to trade users, displaying part lists.
I won’t be going back to Qualtex, just my opinion.June 6, 2009 at 7:06 pm #288692mike1

I think they are o/k but only as a second or third choice option, some of their lines are a lot cheaper than other suppliers, but it can be very frustrating when they let you down with parts that dont arrive and parcels that arrive a day late, but even connect and qualtex are guilty of that one sometimes.

Just remember with Masterpart you can ge a part number and cross reference it with Connect to compare the price. Try doing it the other way round,
No bleeding chance. 🙁Goose

To be honest, although i was bit peeved off about the situation, in general
i find Masterpart to be quite reliable. I suppose when i get a problem now and again with an order its easy to forget about all the stuff ive ordered before that was in stock and turned up quickly and efficently. Mind you, there was a time when i was waiting on a module for a hoover F/F and was told it was due in in a couple of days. It ended up 2 weeks and i had taken a deposit off the customer who kept chasing me on the phone and eventually insinuated to me that i was just a messer and had probably never even ordered it. Thats what annoys me, when your made to look bad and unprofessional through no fault of your own.Subs

ParticipantAfter saying how good the masterpart site is its not working today, getting error message:
“Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.”More happy customers as cant order my parts tonight. . .

I use Masterpart ONLY when I can’t get the item from Qualtex then I might use Europart – I’ve gotta be honest I’ve just got off the phone from Angela at Qualtex & I found her very friendly & helpfull 😛 Unlike Masterpart that lets be honest don’t seem to care whether they can help you or not ! – 😛 It’s gonna be QUALTEX all the way from now on ! 😛

ParticipantRe: Masterparts parts search frustration!
Real problem for me if half the items are out of stock,i still have to order with Connect,so i might as well order the lot with them.Trouble is if i wait till the items are back in stock the others are then out.Even worse is that when i order and it does say in stock ,they dont arrive because their web site was wrong.
