    Hi Folks

Went to this last week – f10 fault (pressure switch not sensing)

Check P/Switch by tempory fitting Indesit 1 had on van with same connection block – checked water valves and tightened pressure switch connections on module all 2 no avail. Suspected module so sent to EMW which they have sent back saying it tested out ok.

    Questions :

What does f10 actually mean – does it mean the module cant sense a pressure switch fitted? eg broken wire, bad module connection, burnt out p/switch.

Or does it mean that its put some water in the m/c and the pressure switch value should have canged but it hasn’t. eg worn pressure tube or blocked p/system (f4 fault – pressure switch stuck on empty)?

Are the pressure switches common 2 both hotpoint/indesit with same connector block or do I have 2 start carrying yet another pressure switch just for test porposes? eg. I need 2 test with that perticular p/switch for that model.

Have read through the other posts to do with f10 faults but what has other peoples experience been with this fault?

Any pionters welcome b4 I have to go back in 2 days time.

Why don’t manifactures just leave it up to engineers to use there own diagnostic skills instead of shuting m/c down or aborting programs and giving us ambigous info!! :rolls: Oh.. I forgot – if it’s not complicated it won’t work 😡 (grumpy old man coming out)

    Thanks

    Mick

    Re: Hotpoint WF540 – F10 fault

Got this same machine in my garage because had to sell customer a new one ‘Bosch’

Changed module and pressure switch to no avail as well as checking repeatedly all obvious stuff, wiring, plugs, ntc etc.

Strange thing was that the fault is intermittent, although majority of the time fault is present, dam machine will occasionally work!?

    Re: Hotpoint WF540 – F10 fault

    Hi folks

Been back – refitted module still same fault altho worked ok till drain off – fitted new pressure switch now works fine. 😀

Looks like you have to fit pressure switch perculiar to that model as tried Indesit pressure switch with same connections last call. Is this due to (I am assuming because there is just 1 click on pressure switch when you blow into it) that the pressure switch works on variable resistance and the click is the fill protection clicking in? If this is so I presume the resistances vary on pressure switches so thats why it was faulting the Indesit pressure switch? :rolls:

Does this mean umpteen visits for this fault or umpteen pressure switches on van?

What has been your experience with this fault?

    Comments apreciated

    Thanks

    Mick

    Re: Hotpoint WF540 – F10 fault

I open switches and check contacts. Burnt usually.
