My Creda T312VW has a broken drivebelt.
I’ve partially removed the front panel but can’t see how to remove the plastic control panel in order to access the screws at the top. How do I do that?
I’ve fitted the new belt around the drum but can’t stretch it to reach the motor spindle. I tried pulling the drum off its rear mounting then fitting the belt over the motor spindle, but then couldn’t get the drum back on its mounting. In fact I now can’t see how to get the drum back in position even without the belt!
    HELP!!!!

The belt is an ultra tight ‘stretchy’ belt. The trade do have some special belt refitting tools but your only option is to place the belt around the drum after correctly refitting the drum and then you need to apply brute force and possibly some sort of lever to stretch the belt over the pulley. Loosening the motor fixing screws a little can help.

As regards the plastic trim, pull the timer knob off. 😉

    Hi Iadom
Many thanks for your quick reply.
I found the screw under the timer knob then broke 2 of the plastic lugs on the control panel, but at least I can get at things better with the front panel out of the way.
Now I have to work out how to get the drum back on to rear mount, then I can tackle the belt.

Ahem, you don’t remove the front panel, you lift off the cabinet complete leaving the front and back panels in situ. 😉
