Just had a call from an AW23 customer, installed about six or seven weeks ago.

She says the machine had gone completely dead, no display showing.
    Has checked fuse etc.

Going to have a look this afternoon, anyone else had this?

    Update. Machine was installed 27/04/09

Customer said she set the machine to a wash cycle, then realised she had left a couple of items out.

She pressed Pause, switched the control knob to OFF, waited until door unlocked, put the extra clothes in the machine, shut the door and switched the control knob to a programme.

The machine was dead, display was blank.

Traced live & neutral to the facia PCB.

I don’t carry any spares for this machine yet so I whizzed down to Star Supplies who do the selling for this area and pinched a facia PCB out of a new machine, refitted and fault was cured.

There is a very tiny torx screw holding the board in, set near the corner of the heat sink.

It is a PITA to get this out. The smallest torx bit I have is a T8. I had to pinch it with pliers and turn it out a tiny fraction at a time, it took ages to get the darned thing out.

Does anyone know a supplier of torx bits smaller than T8 ?

    Jim.

The last time I saw John he mentioned that ISE had sourced some of the tiny torx bits, any update on that?

    Don’t have a Connect account.

It’s a Tx6 – Wera Tools do a nice little screwdriver at that size.
