First time user of this site, and hopefully sorted my no heating problem by ordering the 1701583 Thermostat Kit. But in my rush to fix the problem I’ve cracked the ceramic? boarsd that the heating element wind round. I’ve checked and the continuity is fine through the wire, it’s just the board I’ve cracked. Will this be a safety issue, as the element is staying in place?

    P.S.
Thanks for the link to all the causes of the max temp (green dot) thermostat blowing, I think I’m guilty of at least half the offences

    Thanks in anticpation.

It’ll probably be alright for a while, but there is a constant low frequency vibration going on in these machines when running, so the mica sheet will eventually move.

Replacement is a safer long term bet. New element IS HERE.

    Hi Penguin45,
Thanks for such a quick response. I’m really impressed with this Website.
I’ve going to see if I can get away with leaving it place, since the heating element seems well under tension, so hopefully it should be OK.

    P.S
Just in case I’ll work out which unit it is (2.3Kw or 2.5Kw) before putting the cover back on again.
