    Hey guys!
The fridge works fine but the freezer has completely defrosted. There is only one compressor so i am confused as there is 2 t/stats on the pcb control unit. Could this be faulty or would be a systems fautl?

The compressor is running and the dryer etc warm… just no ice on evaperator!!

    Hi Minge

this model has a diverter valve fitted in the rear compressor compartment
worth checking to see if it has voltage or open circuit, if its the valve it will need a system recharge after fitting.

An old magnet off a microwave is handy to drop over valve to check mechanical part of valve will open.

On this hotpoint the fridge is getting too cold and the PCB look fine.
There is a resistance around the coil but no voltage getting to it when tested. What voltage should there be? And should the voltage be present only when one of the compartments requires it?

I have the same fault on a Hotpoint FFM74 – the customer is reporting that the fridge section is freezing milk etc. Any information would be really useful be I pay a visit.

    Cheers,
    Steve.

Re: HOTPOINT – FRIDGE FREEZER FFA74

These are prone to internal leaks usualy from the aqnticondesation loop around the freezer, the divertor valves dont give much problems,jj
