    Have been to this unit today and suspect that the timer gearing is faulty.
    Set it to a rinse and it will rotate to pick up the selected programme. It will then fill with water and start to wash. 15 mins later it is still doing the same.
    Customer reported that they set it to spin and in sat there pumping and distributing the clothes all night long.

    Am I on the right track or have I missed something regarding these timers with digi boards

    I think you could be on the right track. If you look at EMW’s page of Zanussi timers and click on the details for each timer, you’ll see that for some of them sticking on wash or rinse programmes is a common fault.
    Would recommend a call to Tony first.

    Motor control board it turned out to be. Timer controls wash action but module controls spin action and timer advance.

    Just in case someone gets this again
