I need to change the oven bulb in a Bosch oven – type HBN 5605.0 B. I can only turn the glass cover about 1/4 of an inch and it doesn’t come off. The manual doesn’t say what type of fitting the glass cover uses so I don’t know if it should unscrew more or have any further details. The oven has a grill in the roof so the grill elements stop me using a lid-opener grip to try to turn further.
Can anybody offer a further explanation of how the cover can be removed? Thanks.

    Hi

Had that on ours at home, Power off first :zap:

I managed to get a pair of slip adjustable oil filter pliers on it of all things, just be careful not to twist the inner housing 😉 . Clean off the food and fat deposits of the housing and cover before fitting new bulb.

    hi

i use an oil filter remover(rubber type from halfords) as these are usually very tight,

sometimes you can do it with a pair of rubber gloves (marigolds) on as this allows a better grip but not always

also if you remove the door before trying it allows you to get closer and a better grip

A good tool is a mini boa constrictor available from Amazon – this is a rubber band type tool with a plastic handle. Grips the glass well allowing it to be unscrewed.

Not sure if your model oven has a self-clean panel in the roof – if it does, it helps to remove this panel to get a better grip.

Thanks for your inputs. I am looking for the right gripper to remove the light, but know I am along the correct lines.
