    I have a CDA CW 496, all was fine until the othjer day when it does nothing just beeps and flashes 6 times continuously, anyone any advice.

    Flow meter failure – extensively documented through the forum, but I’ll explain it again.

    This is a Whirlpool-built appliance, it uses a waterwheel flow meter device as part of the fill process. If the computer does no receive signals from it within a fixed period of time, you get a fault.

    Fill matrix with the flow meter in it is located under the left hand side panel. Often a good clean of the contacts will restore function. The device can fail completely if the reed switch breaks, in which case, you need one of these:

    FILL MATRIX.

    Stay safe, power off if you intend to repair this yourself.
