KeymasterI am aware that this has happened on a few occasions and I have consulted on it. From what I can gather so far its a case of the session timing out, or the browser (IE normally) having some bug in it, but I will investigate further and see if I can find a fix for it.
For the moment, please make sure when you enter the forums that your nickname appears in the bottom showing you as online, which means that your logged into the forums okay, if it’s not there just hit the “refresh” button once or twice and that should bring it back up just fine. I know, not ideal. 🙁
I’ll report back once I get time to look into it, hopefully in the next few days.

KeymasterOkay that should be it cured I hope for good!
I found a fix and applied it this afternoon for the error so if anyone was having problems could you even try a “Test” post to make sure it’s all okay now.
Turns out that there was indeed a timout or DNS error.

KeymasterYeah I saw the post okay as well, odd thing it is this timeout malarky.
Anyway, you’ll have to excuse me as I’ve not had a lot of sleep in the past 24 hours since my other half decided that she was having a baby last night so I’m not quite with it today.
What I’ve found out now after some heavy reading & searching is that the error is cured with the patch I used totally but I or maybe Dave as well, have to manually set the privilege in the user database to ignore a session timeout. I do apologise, but as I said I’m not totally with it today.
I have reset the ones that I know have experienced a problem including yours John, Flipper’s, my own, Dave’s and a few others that I think had the issue. Apparently it’s mostly the ISP that causes the problem by changing the DNS addresses while your online, with AOL being the worst offender but there are others that do likewise. It’s a security thing to stop your forum ID being stolen although, TBH, it would have to be one very determined hacker to do it!
So, if you get this error, even once, please let me know and I can sort it in literally two minutes now or so I’m told, with this patch but so far it appears to be working.

ParticipantCongratulations on the new baby, I take it we wont be hearing much from you in the near future. You have just brought back some old memories of being up all night changing nappies and then going out and doing 12 jobs to pay for them.

Please if anyone gets the this error message while trying to post a message on the forum.
To save Ken some time (what with the new arrival and all), please email me directly at dave@cesexeter.co.uk or use private messaging to send me your user name *only*, please don’t send your password for security reasons. I will then (hopefully) rectify it for you.Dave.
