Hi I,m looking for some advice on removing the brushes from my WFF2000GB/12 washing machine.
So far I have tried removing them and am able unplug the connecting wire then unclip the brass piece out of the motor and pull the spring out.
but as I pull the spring out you can feel the carbon block move but then get caught on something that stops it coming out.
I didn’t pull too hard as I didn’t want to break it, but is it just a case of giving it a sharp pull?I have been doing this with the motor still in the machine as I can get to the brushes no problem. I have read that you should remove the motor. Does this somehow effect the brushes coming out? (can’t see how)
I have seen a youtube video of someone changing the brushes with the motor out. It would seem from the video the only problem I should have with the motor still on the machine is trying to compress the spring on the new brush into the hole as it is a tricky enough job with the motor out of the machine.

when the motor was made there is a small tab that would have held the carbon clear of the armature, this tab is pressing against the brush causing the resistance you can feel. pulling harder is the only way to get it out without strpping the motor down. you will need to take the motor out so that you can see the tab inside the holder because you will need to push it out so that the new carbon doesn’t foul on it.
