Coming up with “machine blocked error F7”. This always happens when filling with water but the water does fill up in the drum…..almost certain pressure switch not seeing drum level. I can simulate this by turning off water main – same error. Pressure switch tested by bowing down it and it does switch….. when I blow down the tube down into the drum, I get a lot of resistance….is this normal?
I have flushed out this tube with mains water etc… and can get the machine to fill up through it albeit slowly.
Pressure switch is definitely not switching as I have my meter across it and that’s when the error comes up….. I can even blip the switch by shorting the contacts and the cycle then steps on.
What is inside the drum pressure tube point – how do I get in????
Pulling my hair out!!! 😡
PS: fitted a new pressure switch (£12) just to be sure….. same problem.

Did you check the heating element, a fault on that is detected when the pressure switch is on the empty position.

I’m not familiar with your model but the pressure vessel can usually be removed for cleaning. Can you not simply trace the hose from the switch to it’s other end?

The pressure chamber is part of the drum and cannot be removed for cleaning, if it was blocked it would be a pain to try and clean it.

Guys,
Thanks from taking the time to reply and the suggestioins as they all helped.
Anyway – to cut a long story short, the filing problem was in fact a small peice of circular rubber behind the filter on the water inlet.
The rubber was partially worn partially restricting the water flow such that it did not fill up in time! In fact, it was right on the cusp of the timing limit and would “sometimes” make it!
The pressure switch was all OK and I tested this by submerging the presuure switch & tube in a bucket and noting how many mm it took to trigger.
Just to help me further – having solved this, the cycle would get all the way to the end and never finish…. this was the heater element open circuit! New one fitted – all OK. This is a bit gob smacking as the drum has a temperature sensor which it could use to detect no increase in temperature and then report a specific error? But no no …. that would be too easy!
It was bit of a marathon but I wanted to pass this on to anyone else who may need it in the future.
Thanks once again. 😀

If it thinks it’s full, it turns the heater on. The thermal fuse will blow within seconds. All down to the water level control system.
