After having a power cut I had the same problem as loads of posters on here . myserious ticking ,defrosting ,beeping alarms and buzzing (chattering) noises coming from the back . If you pressed the standby off and on it usually reset itself and it went right for about 8 hours then defrosted and alarms again . Then I heard on this website that the capacitors on control boards werent very good . and either the boards need replacing or the capacitors . So obviously I went for the cheaper option and got all9 caps .These are about twice the size but with a bit of thin wire I soldered just the 4 main ones cos I had a crap soldering iron which made it take ages . Well iplugged my board back in and turned the fridge on and it works !
Only thing is my ice cube maker doesnt work now it did work before even during the problems when it was freezing. I would appeciate any more hints on what it might be or what to try next. should I just change em all Im just scared to touch it in case it balls up again . Thanks very much to all on here who helped me fix it
