Shall I delete your post Chris or will you get rid of mine in duplicate thread. :rolls: 😆
goldenchilds seems to think that posting the same question in two different forums may get better results but we know it don’t work like that here. 8)Jim

DF21 is getting on a bit but far better made than the Indesit machines being sold as Hotpoint today.
When set to any programme the machine should first of all drain and then start to fill.
What happens if you move the control knob on, one click at a time manually?
If it makes the ‘buzzing noise’ as soon as you switch it on then it could be a break in the wiring harness. The wiring harness inside the door, down near the hinge at the bottom left is the place to look, it often breaks there as the wiring becomes brittle with age and many hundreds of door openings. Look where the wiring harness is flattened out and is moulded into a flat plastic strip wrapped in black tape.
It is sometimes possible to effect a repair to the wiring, just not a lot of room.
Be sure to remove the plug if you intend to have a look and take care with the edges of the inner door, very sharp. Also take care to re align the On/Off button when refitting the outer door.
You also need to check the door switch which can also burn out, fitted one only last week.
Jim.
