    Hi, My Zanussi condenser dryer has recently stopped working and is displaying E50 on its display. The motor no longer turns when you select a program. You can hear the condensed water pump working at first but then it displays a error. The motor did work intermittently for a few cycles but now wont work at all.

    Its a Zanussi ZDB 5377 W Timeline Condenser Dryer

    Has anyone come across this fault before?

    It is a drive motor problem. Start a programme and put your ear to the casing. If you can hear a faint humming noise before the code comes up, the motor start/run capacitor may well have failed. Otherwise, motor or pcb will be at fault. These digital dryers (What was wrong with a mechanical timer?) are very difficult to diagnose beyonmd the basic mechanical failures.

    Stay safe – power off if you’re doing this yourself.

    It turned out to be the control board that had failed. (probably a failed triac) but its all working again now. I just hope it lasts longer this time
