    After 7 years of faithful service my machice won’t start. I have had intermittent problems in the past with it not starting and *think* it might be a sensor on the door not working/locking.

    I get power to the machine (orange light comes on) and after shutting the door and pulling pout the control dial nothing happens – I don’t hear the door lock and the machine doesnt start to fill.

    If I rotate the program dial the light goes out when it should (at the point on the dial when the programs should finish).

    Any thoughts as to where to start looking ?

    Having rewired my house a couple of years ago (before Part P / harminization befoire anyone asks) I well aware how dangerous 240v ac current is. However thanks for the reminder.

    Picked up the part on Saturday, it had been delivered earlier in the week but wouldn’t fit through my narrow letterbox.

    Got home, 15 mins later had a working machine.
