    Candy CMD146 washer drier. 3100093807365828.

This bloody machine, coupled with Gias’ snail – paced spares delivery has almost convinced me to blacklist Candy / Hoover stuff. 😈

The original fault was the inability to select programs. I found 2 chafed ribbon cables. Eventually got replacements (8 weeks!) and fitted them – no difference. OK…..the shorting cables on the motor body must have blown the PCB. PCB sent to EMW – no fault found. The only other thing that could be affected is the selector unit; although it looks like a microswitch activation dial type, I can’t see any electronics.
Any help at all on this please – I’m just about to give it up as a lost cause. What else could it be? :bang:

    Thanks,

    Steve.

Hvr / Candy have had a long standing problem with there heaters causing some lovely weird faults. Have you tried a test cycle ??

Thanks for the replies; I’ll try anything ATM. These machines are really dreadful, they waste so much time and effort, it rather begs the question, are they worth bothering with? 👿

    Cheers,

    Steve.

The parts breakdown for this model show a Motorized selector s/w 22 settings PN 41003735. I have changed a few of these myself (machine won’t start)

Usually around £10 – £15 + VAT so not so bad to try in. If the board checks out ok then this is the likely culprit.
