ParticipantHi folks
Anyone got a partno for the motor carbons on above m/c. Cant find partno on distripart only for motor complete. Or listed at Connect/Masterpart for that model.
The motor fitted is an AEG motor but all the AEG brushes I have got on my van don’t fit either wrong brush angle or holder incorrect. Even tried taking out the brush asy out of a holder to fit original holder but cant get one to fit unless i start codgin and dont want to do that if possible.
Otherwise looks like another job bites the dust at £300 for the motor!!!!
Thanks
Mick

have you tried the electrolux spares website http://www.electrolux.co.uk/node302.aspx
You’ll need the product number. They give you exploded diagrams.

I had a problem like that a few weeks ago with a Zanussi which had an FHP motor. The carbons were removable from the metal holders like on some Hotpoint FHP motors but my loose carbons would not quite fit. I think what I did in the end was reverse the angle of a pair of Hotpoint brushes and fit the new metal holders in the old plastic cases. I think motors badged AEG and FHP come from the same factory.

Thanks for the replies guys
Went to the Electrolux Web Site address but the exploded views the same as on my distripart disc which shows motor only 🙁
Looked at changing the carbons into origonal holders but looks like I might have to codge one to fit – the original doesnt look like it has any locating pegs on the metal carbon holder that fits in plastic holder – the one that looks like it might fit has so it might be a case of bending the locating pegs in and see if it fits, but I didn’t want to do that only as a last resort.
Looks like the origanal brushes dont have a part no. ? 🙁
Thanks for the replies but if anyone comes up with a partno can they keep me posted please.
Thanks
Mick

I don’t know if it’ll be much help really but have you tried looking in Masterpart’s “yellow pages” – the paper home laundry spare parts catalogue? Mine is dated 2005 but I’m sure I only received it last year or this. There are some pics which might help a little if you have the old brush in your hand. Similarly, the old Connect paper catalogue gives OPN’s. Then there’s Qualtex’s “Carbon brush assy ref manual”. Could keep you out of mischief for hours poring over that lot. 😆

I fitted brushes to a Lavamat6050DIG recently and they were in fact the regular Qualtex CAR91 (FHP Motor type) that fitted. 😉
