ParticipantHad a repaircare call this week, called customer to make arrangements and check out what is required, the conversation suddenly got round to her explaining she was desperate to get the reapair done as a member of her family was diagnosed with Swine Flu :eeek:
I told her I will pre order some bits and call her back next week when they have the all clear, there is no way sending engineer anywhere near the place.
Only time you find customers in all day is when there off sick, great we really want to catch what they have.

My wife was at her new school today, to get to meet her new pupils.
Upon arrival she was handed the anti-bac lotion.
The Head and two pupils are off with suspected Swine flu. 😯
Now with the amount of people I meet and now this I’m becoming quite concerned. For the first time in 15 years I’m taking two weeks off abroad next week. Fingers crossed we make it there!

ParticipantI think its all hype, they are now saying they reacon the same number of people will die as they do every year of seasonal winter flue, like chicken flue nothing will come of it.
That said I could do without catching a dose of it!

TBH, I don’t worry about such things anymore.
And unless there’s a red cross plastered on the door I wouldn’t either.
I will always remember when the AIDS “epidemic” broke out in the late 80’s that one of our engineers wanted to be supplied with latex gloves to remove pants and stuff from a washer. Until I pointed out that it was a bl00dy bacteria and might be anywhere… after he thought about it a bit he got back to work.
The thing is, every day is a risk and I’d be much more worried about getting a jolt that could fry my insides than catching swine flu and, the odds of surviving swine flu are much better. 😉
My view is, if you get it you get it and there’s not a whole lot you can do to avoid it as you can’t see it, smell it or sense it in any other way.

Better to catch it now and get it over with before winter is upon us. :lesson:

my house mate has been complaining of a sore throat, now his company has sent everyone home for quarantine! I’m glad I’m busy, the less time I spend at home the better!!!
Lets hope it is all hype, lets be fair our media tells us some funny things from time to time.

I had ‘flu about 6 weeks ago, i’m hoping it was the swine variety although it was early days for the epidemic. Having now had it i can safely say i’ve never had ‘flu before…went to bed with a slightly sore throat and woke up next morning feeling like a steam roller had run over me, every joint in my body aching right down to fingers and toes. I spent the next two weeks enjoying temperatures as high as 108 😕
