I have A Diplomat APM 8552 washing machine , I think the timer is faulty when i set it to programme “5” it takes about 1 hour 40 minutes to get to”B” and well over 2 hours to finish the cycle.

The timer is never faulty, it’s always the PCB. The timer locks the door and then acts as a programme indicator – all the work is done by the computer. The timer will only move when the computer tells it to.
The only other thing which would slow the programme time down is heat or lack thereof – it’ll spend a lot of time waiting for the water to warm up before giving up and carrying on.
Oh – or syphoning, that’ll do it – constant water loss, so never reaches temperature. You’d hear the water valves operating repeatedly though.

Hi
Check the heater before doing anything else,as this will stop program advancing if water not getting hot.

Bottom of the rear panel on the drum. You’re looking for 25ohms(ish) on your test meter.
Stay safe, power off first.
