I ordered a hinge pulley and a rope thing for a Whp ADP262 from Connect. The rope thing gave a Beko alternative much cheaper so I went for that. The hinge pulley gave no alternative so I lashed out the £4.43 for this piddling little bit of plastic.
Arrives this morning. Both are Beko parts but the pulley has a Whirlpool part no sticker stuck on over the Beko label. Just now, had a look to read the Beko part no. beneath. Pop that into Connect’s engine and it comes up £1.04. That’s less than one quarter of the price.
I logged in here and began to type a moaning message, then thought, well give ’em a chance. So I call Customer Services and explain the thing and they agree to credit me the difference. Damn’ – Nothing to moan about anymore 🙁 .
How common is this? I recall reading others’ similar experiences.
It just shows you need to have your wits about you.
You can sort of understand the difficulties they’re under cross referencing all these parts and maybe it is necessary sometimes to stick labels over other labels for that reason. I think the onus is on us to shop wisely and point out these anomalies when they arise so others get a better service.

Spot on Mike, some months ago I required an oven fan motor can’t remember the make now, was’nt listed under model number on Connect.

Sent them an e-mail asking if they could do a in house check and cross ref the model or part. They came back saying can’t supply.

Got motor elsewhere, when it arrived I discovered a Beko number under another lable, stuck this into Connect site and hey presto up comes the motor and on this occasion their price was lower.

E-mailed them explaining they could have supplied and that I had done their job for them.
