ParticipantAfternoon
I have an Ariston A1636 that has decided it’s going to go on strike.
The front pannel lights show the door lock light blinking rapidly and the delay timer (light #1) and the rapid wash (light #4) blinking slowly together.
Can anyone tell me which error code this is please. I searched the other posts here and nobody seems to have had the same fault.
If the fault is only with the PCB then I will replace that myself, but if it’s both the PCB and say the temp sensor I’m guessing I wouldn’t save much money by doing it myself, and getting an Ariston engineer to fix everything for the somewhat steep price of £100?
Is this a hotpoint or Indeset made washing machine branded as an ariston by the way, will need to know if i purchase a new pcb?
Thanks for you help, much appreciated indeed. Just lost my job so trying to do this on the cheap…

Participantlight 1 & 4 is f09
its a eprom setup error
that means a new pcb im afraid, or it may be able to be reprogrammed
will indeed be your cheapest option
but be warned, it has a 3 phase pcb, and must be left, unplugged for at least 15minutes before you even consider entering the machine

Thank ytou both for your very swift replies.
Well I took the top and back pannel off to have a poke around (after 15 mins of it being unplugged – thank you!) and just fiddled with all the connectors making sure they were home. Had a look at the PCB, its a bit of a pest to actually get out from alongside the motor…
Anyway, after wiggling all the connectors, some harsh language, a few non too subtle threats and a good kick, it’s working again!
I think it was showing it the cricket bat that did it, but thank you for your advice anyway, I know what to do if it really dies next time.
Many thanks
Dave

Oh dear, the dreaded 8 flash problem.
Use the site search facility and enter “Indesit AND eight AND flashes” in that exact format without the quotes and you will have plenty of reading to go at.
If the machine is under five years old it may be under a parts warranty, worth checking out.
