    Hello

I have been deliberating for weeks now on a new machine. My Indesit washer/dryer gave up after 15 years of service (it never needed repairing but did not do a great wash) Now I am thinking of this Bosch. Basically I want a machine with a dial and not too much digital stuff..having read all your stuff against combos washer dryers, I still like the option even though I rarely use the dryer. Is this a good machine..does it have the dreaded sealed drum? Should I spend my £500 on a higher spec washer only? I need depth no more than 560mm. Thanks in advance. ❓

The GB/05 appears to be the current version (you can have a look over on http://www.bshapplianceacre.com ) and shows as a stainless tank Spanish built machine. It’s fully digitally controlled – the knob is just a selector – and is perfectly adequate. It isn’t going to last ten years IMO. I have had problems with the blower/heater housing breaking away from the tub at between 3/5 years – the repair is never totally satisfactory.

Thanks for swift reply. Oh dear! Back to drawing board again, what would be the best washing machine for this money in your opinion? If my only concern was the depth..

Slightly off topic, what does WAA and WAE signify in Bosch model numbers?
    I am thinking of WAA28161

waa indicates the appliance is a “tactical” model. often a currys/comet/john lewis exclusive built to a price so it can be offered as a bosch, on “special offer”. some waa’s are bosch specced but occasionally built under license i.e not in a bosch factory, its hit and miss regarding reliability but if your scared of sealed drums you will prolly wanna avoid a waa as thats where they shave some of the build price, along with poorer quality door handles, etc. most waa and wae prefix models wont be german built, but in my experience if u can find a wae24364 for 30-50 quid more its a better buy!
