Is anyone interested in a low cost networkable call handling package?

The intent is to make it TCP/IP networked from a dedicated Linux based server that can be accessed via the web, print jobs to paper or transfer to them to a laptop or PDA and have an open-architecture database so calls can be logged or viewed from an outside source. Of course call viewing would be limited to being on a “per-account” basis, i.e. only Smeg could view or log Smeg calls for example.

We’re also trying to get a postcode lookup on it.

Initial costs for one server with software etc. and one client license about £500, sounds fair enough. And no, I’m not doing it and I ain’t making anything on it but I do need it done for myself as well.

Anything you want to see it do or if you’re interested please post it here.

Like it or not, it is the future! I remember hating the very notion of a software system, I was happy living in ignorant bliss without it many years ago nowadays I couldn’t and wouldn’t live without it! Quite simply, it saves a truckload of time and therefore money by having information at your fingertips rather than raking through bits of paper for hours on end to answer the simplest of enquiries.

Web based is the way forward as well as being open to talk to anything, like links to Sage, Quickbooks etc and the likes as well as to other systems so it can be customised to suit. As well as being affordable!

I’ll keep everyone up to speed but the developers did ask me to ask for any suggestions, so I asked.
