Went out to a freezer today that was connected to the mains socket via one of these energy saver plugs. It had shorted out so i just replaced it with a normal plug. I was wondering though how they work? For instance a fridge or freezer comes on when cooling is required and cuts out when temp is reached. How does this device save energy?
