ParticipantTwo of these in a week…less than two years old.
Zanussi ZWD16270W, Electrolux EWX14440W. (essentially the same machine!)
Accessed diagnostics and ed4 is shown, except on the dryer test (#9) which completes ok. The ed4 says the fault is on the drying module, wiring or a PCB fault. I’m thinking i can rule the drying module out, as drying is the only test that doesnt show a fault. the pcb is about £130.
Has anyone resolved an ed4 fault? should i order the pcb?
many thanks.

I’d check for broken wires at all the components first. I’ve had this a couple of times recently and odd symptoms show up. For instance a broken heater wire on a ZWF1211W caused over-filling. Can you credit that? had me scratching my head for ages until somebody told me about it.

Yes i’d agree with that, check your insulation reading anything lower than 30meg change it because otherwise you will get silly error codes

Just been to one. Pumps out 5 secs stops and unlocks door. Disconnect dryer heater fills ok. Heater 1.18 MOHM.
Whats the easiest way to change htr? cabinet doesnt split.S.

Just a few screws & wires to disconnect & the duct comes away with ease.
It will almost certainly be the dry heater. I work for Electrolux Serviceforce & I have been fitting these like the are going out of fashion. Any reading below 10 MegOhms & I would change it. If it checks out ok, run it on tumble dry for 5-10 minutes & retest the heater & see what you get.
Seems to happen if customer seldom uses drier.
