    Hi all from downunder,

I have had a customer ask me for a recommendation between a Siemens and a Miele washer machine & dryer.
Siemens are fairly new to the Australian market so I haven’t had a chance to see what sort of life they give so basically I want to know, from those with experience with both, which would you choose for yourself.

    Thanks,
    Steve

NEFF/Seimens/Bosch is BSH Group up here and generally respected, although the quality of the “budget” end appliances is agreed to be falling. Out-manufacture is now in Spain, Poland, Turkey and China as far as wee know. Your nearest factories will be in China, so I’d hazard a guess that that’s where they’re coming from – very expensive, moving 70kg white boxes about.

That said, F+P were buying front loaders from Beko in Turkey.

Miele is a class act; quality and expensive. Also very secretive with regard to tech info of any kind. You’ll need to be an approved service agent if you want anything out of the deal beyond the profit on the sale.

    Chris.

Bosch & Siemens are BSH here too, Neff is handled through a different company though.

I suppose this is the main question, Is Siemens the same quality as Bosch?
To me Bosch is a known product where Siemens isn’t, but if the difference is the badge and the feature set then I would recommend Miele without question.

I am being asked the question as the service agent for both products (even though I am unfamiliar with one:)).

    Thanks,

Bosch and Siemens are generally the same appliance, components inside are identically in most machines, the top spec machines benefit from extra sound proofing.

There isn`t anything major wrong with Siemens m/c other than a cheaper Bosch is just as good/bad.

BSH in Spain took over the Spanish Balay brand, they now have 7 factories in Spain and all there hobs, fridges, come from Santander and Pamplona.

In 2007 there Spaniah head office in Zaragoza still had Balay all over it with no obvious signage of Bosch.

BSH Interservicio being the group name, which also includes Lynx, Superser and Ufesa.

Here is the web portal for engineers and clients.

In Spain there a pretty crap company to work for, top end clients in Marbella with million Euro villas are kept waiting weeks for a repair.

I haven`t worked in Australia yet, but i wouldn`t touch a Siemens over a Miele.

Far more proffessional and they keep there good name over profits.
