Has anybody had any money out of Smeg or AIS this month.
Kim’s on Holiday and Jans off seeing to her sick mother. And there appears to be nobody else who can do the jobs in their respective companies.
What other excuses have you heard apart from ‘our systems down’,’the auditors are in’ , ‘No directors in today’ etc. etc.I’ve checked with my bank and the balance of my NESN money is hitting on Wednesday.
I’ll be checking with my bank tomorrow to make absolutely sure the balance from NESN is in there, trouble is, this will go on month after month, time to bail out of the remaining 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the area I haven’t dropped already me thinks.
TBH I haven’t checked Anglo yet, or ISDAL. But then I shouldn’t have to chase the buggers anyway, but hey, we are but simple engineers that work for fuck all aren’t we ?

As far as Nesn go you are already allowing them to fuck you about every month by growling your discontent ,then doing the work when they graciously pay you two weeks late.Whilst I appreciate you have your own concerns over cash flow and paying your own bills,it will never get any easier whist you let Nesn rule and do as they like.It is easier for me as Nesn are only 9{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of my business,but you better switch on to the idea that they have serious cash flow problems of their own and one day(soon I hope)there will not be 60{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} with a further payment…..the pot will be empty.

Hand in your notice with the condition that payments must be maintained.
Time it for 3 days before the electrue payment ,you will get that.
Make sure you close every job possible to maximise that payment.Your payment on the 8th will have your advance payment deducted from it and this then gives you the opportunity to put Nesn on stop.This withdrawral of the advance will highlight to you that Nesn are way behind with collecting monies from their contracts……you will see from your own accounts that you will have Nesn unpaid invoices from 6 months previous.Because they withdraw the advance it then puts them into the position of being in arrears with you and you can put them on stop forthwith and not work your notice……which because they are not paying you correctly, would only increase their debt to you.Sounds complicated, but it allows you to take control,you know what the worst case is and wether you can cope with it on your cash flow etc etc.This is a planned get out with no legal implications…..you stand to lose money but you should be able to work out how much……….you also stand to receive some money as he has to pay whats due if you can show its been paid(I’m working on that) not an easy ride but a step in the right direction……..
Finally I would like to wish Nesn at least two more months so Mr chairman can get his dosh…………..he needs it to buy a round in(ha ha) 😆

Not just that, I was one of the blind fools that got roped in to the shares fiasco 😥
I need to get that sorted first while they are still on good terms, which is no mean feat when they have completely bollocksed that up as well, apart from the fact none of the twats in the a/c dept want to talk to me 😡
TBH as they have only taken partial payment, another mistake, I would rather cut my losses and give the fuckers away, but I don’t think anyone will want them 😉

If NESN manage to pay the full amounts this month I’ll eat my shorts! Quite simply there’s no chance of it I reckon.
They will pay as much as they can or are willing to this month (September payment) but after that I’m not taking any bets as I don’t think they’re going to survive till Christmas TBH and I’ll explain why…
Too many people are too nervous about NESN right now, not just us poor agents, but some of the manufacturers and insurers as well. I know of two manufacturers that think it only has a lifespan of months at best and I also know that more then half a dozen of their major *current* clients are looking for alternatives right now.
Couple that with the debt factoring, payment shortfalls, staff leaving, staff turnover, no organistation, an accounts dept. that doesn’t speak to anyone and all the other assorted problems and a blind man with one good ear can see it’s only a matter of time before they fall. They could rescue it though, the first step being firing JT, but I doubt they’ll do that anytime soon.
*IF* and i do mean *IF* any more than half a dozen agents put them on stop for any time at all then the situation gets even more precarious for them as that will put a dent in their cashflow and, more seriously, their credability as a service provider.
Mark, I do hope you get your two months out them but I’d say it was touch and go at this point whether you will or not, or at least get all your money out of NESN.

Send a list of outstanding jobs to kgreenhill@smeg-service.co.uk seems to work ok with me every month, although they are a little overdue atm so I’m keping an eye on them.

I don’t pay Servevast till after I get paid from them, on top of that I keep the spares account @ 60 days, same as they are with me.
AIS I terminated that lot as I was always chasing money, I’m owed for 3 months now on some calls.
They never even answered my letters or returned my phone calls.
Are they in trouble??

We do all that , we’ve been promised a cheque since last monday and its still not arrived. Same last month but all the excuses under the sun were made then , year end ( which is still been used now) ,all signaturies in Italy , etc etc , fucking annoying.

S/Vast will never improve I’m afraid. I chase them every month and put them on stop at least twice a year.
The one that bothered me was Graham Smy @ AIS as he didn’t even pick up the phone when I wrote telling him I was getting disillusioned with the price structure etc.
I phoned several times afterwards left messages etc, he never returned the calls, finally I wrote & gave notice, never had a reply at all & after 10 years, that bothers me.
Can’t make it next week to the DASA thing, have phone J. Fitz & let him know as well as an e-mail banged off to the secretary.
