Customer says it is completing wash quicker than normal and is not heating.
Element is OK, wiring to timer seems fine. Do these machines advance out of the heating cycle after a period of ‘no temp increase’ ?
I suspect the timer, unless you know different. 🙂

What is the NTC resistance? I’ve had a few NTCs go low resistance on these lately so the electronics thinks they are already up to temperature.

NTC appeared OK, machine was hardwired 😥 so I couldn’t use my plug in meter but I observed the mains input meter in the cupboard under the stairs. It was the old style rotating disc type.
The heater never even switched on which I’m sure it should have done, even with a faulty NTC it should have gone through a heat stage on this mechanical/hybrid timer before advancing to the next step.

Why would it switch the heater on if the NTC was saying it was already up to temperature? Last one I did was a Bendix BIW103W. Old NTC was 1.5K at room temp. , replacement was 27K. Symptoms were the same, going through without sticking but not powering the heater.

As Jim says it will still go through to the 2 minute heat step on the timer before the NTC allowed the holding solenoid to release it and advance to the next stage. 😉

nts readings should be on early hybrid timers
30 degrees 17k
40 11.5k
50 7.8k
60 5.5ki would put a straight resistor say 20k set to 50 degrees or higher and see if it heats
on late pcb units nts starts at
20 degrees 6k
60 degres 1250 ohmsalso on some zanussi auto with pcb mounted in a box by rh suspension spring the timer is programmed to skip heat if no rise in temp is found within a set time. no fault code will appear. had one of the ended up new pcb now ok
hope this helps
