Help!! Holiday washing….water every -where!! Switched off, unplugged..took back off and found the belt shredded and tangled around shaft…pulling several cables off of clips, one of which left a hole in back of drum!! Know i should phone a guy but i,m DiYdi and usually i can find spares and diagrams and mend things. Found the belt, isn’t expensive but don’t know which cable fits where!!

If you can post a photo of the damage I might be able to advise. I had one of those machines apart the other week so should still have a sketch of the thermostat wiring. Obviously you will need to refit the thermostat that’s come out of the tub.

    Re: Indesit wg1130t belt

Thanks for quick reply. Have taken 3 photos as best i can….space is tight…but sorry don’t know how to post them!! Have to contact someone 2moro who can help with this!!
    Hope this may help
2 long black cables ..with plastic clips on ends and 2 short green and yellow cables that are both joined together with a metal clip on end are all unattached, plus a long black one with the round metal plug-like thing (think this is Thermostat).
Next to hole in tub there is a white plastic lug with connection at top and bottom which look like they take the plastic clips from black cables.
Below that there is a small plastic piece that fits into 2 small round holes but appears to have been pulled out of bottom hole …(bit like a cable tidy in an electric plug),
but cant for life of me see where green and yellow( earth cables?) connect to…hope this doesn’t scare you off!!! I am safe really…will get photos posted asap…

Easiest way to do it is to upload to a hosting site like Photobucket and link from there. Paste the link and up come the piccies.

The green & yellow wires go to the motor casing, the heater element metalwork and the bearing housing. The bearing housing one often goes to a long tin strip that runs from the centre to the bottom edge of the tub.

    Re: Indesit wg1130t belt

You have a bigger problem than you think here. The remaining earth connection clips on to the motor by the connector block. The disc with the wire on it is the remains of a varistat – the wire is actually a gas capillary tube connected to the temperature knob on the control panel. You’ll need p/no C00019650 – spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get one for you promptly.

    Re: Indesit wg1130t belt

The two black wires with spade terminals go to the white thermostat (either way round), the green & yellow wire goes to a male spade which forms part of the bracket for the motor multi pin socket. As Chris says, if the capillary tube is broken on the variable thermostat you will need a new complete stat.

    Re: Indesit wg1130t belt

The main thing to bear in mind when you do fit the new parts is that you must route and secure the wiring away from the line of the belt. Make sure that you have insulating tape and a few tyraps to hand when you do the job.

Stay safe – pull the plug and put it somewhere where you can see it.

    Re: Indesit wg1130t belt

    Hi there all,
Getting the belt on was a nightmare….everthing else was ok…took photos before taking any screws out and then put all back same…..suspension leg came off!!! when i tilted machine for better access….fixed it with a great big washer….got a bit of a squeak now but all working …think it’s time i started saving for a new machine though…maybe it’ll last till next year and could use savings to go on hols again….

    Thanks

    Re: Indesit wg1130t belt

For future reference, fitting the belt is very easy. You put it round the motor pulley first then hold it taut against the drum pulley with one hand and rotate the pulley with the other. As the pulley turns the belt jumps into place.
