Hi i have just moved into my new house and tried my oven for the first time. I dont have a manual for my oven. However when i turn it on the element in the oven element heats up but the fan does not come on or the internal light.

I have struggled to see the product code and i cant seem to move it out to look on top, its a single fan assisted oven with a single knob and a timer, i think its around 4yrs oldish

Is it possible that the light and fan are on the same circuit and a fuse has blown or is it more likely that they are broken. If both are broken would i be better getting a replacement or getting it repaired?

If i got a new one which model would people reccommend?

    Thanks for the help

hi most likely the light bulb has just gone and your fan motor has seized . fan motors were common problems where they would get noisey or stuck, that would be my first guess , i use to just try to flick them a few times to see if there was any pull on fan blade.

If it needs parts, you’d better read THIS.

If the fan does need replacing is this possible to do yourself or is it a job for an engineer?.

I will try and get the proper model code for the oven when i can move it out

It’s possible but you will usually have to strip off panels. We’d need the model number to tell you for sure.
