We use it for the moment.
It’s okay for the most part but I have found, at times, that support has been slow.
One year on with it and I’m still not sure whether I actually like it or not in all honesty.

Is the Fixzone system.
I, personally when using it, have found it a bit slow. It works okay but seems to be a little on the slow side and really slows up when you have multiple records open.
Only works on Windows, hate that. 🙁
Tried it on the Mac using Parallels and it wasn’t happy either. 🙁
I don’t like the diary system personally. One year on and I still long for my spreadsheet way of doing it, which was based on the old charts I used to use the days before Excel existed. That way I could see who was going where and what they had on at a glance but, importantly, allowed me to see who I could re-route easily. Don’t get me wrong, it does work okay, just not as well or as intuitively as I would perhaps like.
I like a split screen so I can see what I’m booking to where whilst working with the call record/s at the same time and, you can’t do that. But then I’m used to an environment where you’re taking multiple calls one on top of the other and that has to be done quickly and effectively. For me, doing it my way is the fastest and most accurate way.
You have to pay per terminal used, don’t like that. If I pay for software like this I want to use it on as many machines on the LAN as I want without restriction. This is so I can access data at any terminal within the office I happen to pick up the phone at.
No remote access to run the terminal on a remote location without using LogMeIn or suchlike. Not the end of the world, but a hindrance to me.
The way it stores records seems, to me, to be a bit odd really and it’s not so easy to quickly get to some information.
All that said, you have to remember I’m really picky about this sort of stuff. 😉
I expect near instantaneous access and answers from wherever I want to work from. I also want to accrue knowledge from experience and, Fixzone does not do that too well IMO.
It’s okay though.
One day though I will get my own incarnation to work. I’m not done with that notion just yet. 😉

My business is mainly cash calls, and none of these systems seem to suit that. Looking closely at Servicenet at the moment, and though it’ll give us advantages over our paper diary,we still won’t be able to produce an invoice in the house due to variable 3G coverage once your ouside the towns.
End result seems to be we either hotch-potch it,and issue a copy of the job sheet in lieu of a posted invoice,or we drop taking payment there and then, and start posting invoices, thereby buggering up cash-flow.
I can see huge advantages in computerising the calls, but the compromises are a bugger .August 18, 2009 at 2:29 pm #294542Bill
