Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had to replace one of the atcuators on one of these machines? the reason being is, I went to one today and fitted a power module , when I went to test it, the machine started on microwave, then after about 3 seconds there was a loud bang. One of the tracks had blown on the pcb and on close inspection there was a burn mark on the actuator, that led from the blown track on the pcb.I’ve checked the rest of the mchine over and all appears ok. Just never had this fault before.
    Cheers

I have had the very same fault on one that came into our shop, the actuator uses the same PTC device that most interlocks now use, the type that short out when they fail. expensive!

Thanks Simon, thought I was going mad. It wasn’t the same fault which caused the original board to go. I have repaired the track on the new pcb, so when I fit the actuator I’m hoping that will sort it.

Merv , a faulty actuator can cause massive probs blowing tracks/relays on the main board. I’ve had it where the burnt out area has caused the display module to burn out as well !!! Very expensive repair !

I’ve had them take out main relay board and BOTH display boards…. very, very expensive.

I’d be surprised if re-soldering the track will sort it, but hey you might just get luck 😉

Thanks for the replies, fingers crossed about the board.Amazing, I’ve repaired quite a few of these, but it’s the first time I’ve come across this. Oh well, we live and learn.
    Thanks for your help.
