Hi there,
Yesterday the filter got blocked with some food, which I guess caused it to flood or at least think it did. The dishwasher was basically stuck in the draining bit: it must have been trying to drain for a couple of hours before I realised!
When I switch it on, it keeps trying to drain and won’t go to the next step which would be to fill with water.
So after looking into previous threads I concluded that the flooding must have tripped the float switch.
It’s a built-in dishwasher and finally with my OH we found out how to get the panel off and get to the undertray, which was indeed filled with water.
Using a sponge I got as much water out as I could (hard to reach!) and then used a hairdryer on it for a bit.
Also made sure the filter was now clean.
But the machine is still not working.
Could it be that there is still too much damp in the tray?
Or does the switch need manual flicking somehow? If so, where is it located?
Tried resetting by holding the P button for 4 seconds, then closing the door. It drains for a bit, then stops, and lights 4 & 5 flash. Keeps trying to drain when I switch to a normal programme.
(I haven’t got the instruction manual unfortunately).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

The machine is still not working, although it should all be dry now I would have thought.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Is there a switch that needs flicking?
If so, how do I get to it on this particular model?

Lights 4 & 5 is not an error code as such but I think usually indicates corruption of the PCB.
Sorry I cant help more, I have limited knowledge but having just spend several weeks trying everything to fix ours we have concluded that we need to replace it!
I did send our PCB to a repair place but they tested it and said it was not faulty. I contacted a local engineer and he said that he could spend so many hours trying to diagnose the problem that it really was not worth it.

you will almost definitely have pipes blocked with gunge or more than likely the water has dripped on to the electrics & popped the PCB tracks

Hi everyone,
Well the engineer came in today, and it turned out I had basically already fixed it by draining the tray (and possibly trying all those reset procedures?).
When I then tried to run it though, I hadn’t given it long enough: he said that after it floods like that, when you switch it on it will drain for about 5 minutes before the normal cycle starts.
I clearly hadn’t waited that long 🙂
Dishwasher running fine now, no problems at all, nothing needs to be replaced.
Hopefully this advice will be useful for others with the same problem: if you’ve followed all other tips, just let it run for a bit longer and see what happens 🙂
