Hi,
I have a Zanussi ZKR 59/39R Fridge Freezer, approximately 8 years old.
It has been making a very strange ‘gurgling’ noise, and the fridge keeps freezing at the back. I have to keep changing the temperature up and down to get the compressor? motor? appliance? to ‘switch off’ so that it stops running for a short time and ‘defrosts’ the fridge.
It is recommended that the appliance is kept at setting 3 or 4, but regardless of which number it is set at, the temperature continues to drop in the fridge until the back freezes over. My freezer is also frosting up extremely quickly. I defrosted it only last week and already there is huge ice build up in the freezer.
I have changed the thermostatic regulator at a cost of £22, but this has in no way solved any problem! It is almost as though the fridge/freezer is constantly running even when it is cold enough and should switch itself off. The compressor at the back of the fridge is very very hot. I have no clue if there is another part I can try to fix this, or if we are going to have to cut our losses and buy a new fridge/freezer (baby was due 3 days ago so money is tight so not the best timing lol!)
I have searched and searched the internet for an answer to our problem, but to no avail. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Lorna
