MacAllister CODWDTOV. Machine was dead but fult was just a detached motor wire. Motor now works but machine chucks out clouds of dust from various places, including the 2 bin catches. I’m wondering if I’ve assembled it wrong. Does anyone have information about these as I had never heard of them?

    i take it

1 you have cleaned out casing when you repaired to remove any old dust on wrong side of filter

2 the dry filter is in place most wet and dry units remove dry filter for wet work and just use a ball to stop bucket overflowing

    hope this helps

I found the problem. I had fitted the lower casing 180 degrees out of position. This allowed the foam ring that surrounds the motor to get blown out of place. I think the dust was from this foam.

    mad isnt it

they make an appliance to be operated by a mostly mechanically ignorant general public and make it easy for it to be assembled the wrong way
    i despair of manufacturers

    glad you found it
