Perhaps Chinese consumers have low expectations for their appliances. I dare say a lot of them have bought their first machine in the last few years so don’t have recollections of earlier, more reliable products. Remember what TVs were like in the ’60s? The TV repair man was like an extra member of the family, he was there so often. Perhaps in Chinese homes the Haier repair man has his own teacup and is included in family photos.

Are you guys missing the point of the video or what? It wasn’t about washing vegetables, carrots or whatever in a Haier washing machine. But rather hypothetically demonstrating that with modern hi-tech communication and innovation technology at the disposal of companies like Haier, it is possible to produce an appliance to meet the demands of the buying public in very short order.
Whether it being a hi tech, hi spec product is the only question left unanswered? But so far at least we know Haier in the UK incorporate neither qualities but they are getting hi end exposure world wide and have a huge market share right now. So the name Haier will soon become a household name and more reliable up-market products from them likely as not will soon appear.
Especially considering they are getting most of there R&D experts from the west on their payroll. Many are relocating to China on long term contracts and unsurprisingly their competitors too are entering into ‘partnership deals’ with them. Bosch/Siemens to name but one such organisation.
So, if you want Haier to make a washing machine to wash your veggies and thousands more into the bargain demand the same then I’m sure Currys will have one on their shelf next spring courtesy of Haier. 😈
