ParticipantHello, after enduring the washing machine merry-go-round too many times, I decided that I should take my own advice and buy a decent washer.
My initial instinct was to purchase a top end Bosch/AEG or maybe even a Miele, however my web research led me here and my interest in the ISE 10 was born.
I thought now mine has arrived and I’ve used it, I would pop a review up here for those of you who are at the end of their tether like I was!
Now, where to start? Well to be honest i’m blown away, the ISE 10 is far and away the best washer I’ve ever, ever seen or used. It also looks superb, far better than the pictures online appear, lovely nice clean lines and a simple aesthetic. It fits in my Kitchen rather nicely!
On wash performance, it blew me away, relatively quick, super cleaning, no itching (as yet!), very quiet even on 1600 spin. I could go on and on but I’d just bore you ๐
This is one excellent machine, I can’t fault it’s ease of use, quality of wash, looks, noise levels or simple controls.
However, as I do like to be impartial, there is one drawback with it in use that I’ve noticed so far, that is the noise level when filling (strange I know, but it’s pretty loud for some reason!), other than that there are no other con’s with the washer.
There is however a drawback with buying the ISE10, I experienced it, and I’ve also seen it in other threads; Supply and Delivery ๐ฅ
I don’t want to criticise, and I know that as I’m buying from an indie supply and repair network, I can’t expect national retail chain distribution levels. However both myself and the installer should be able to rely on it being delivered on the day we were told!
The thing is though, on initial ordering through my local repair man (Cheers Trev BTW, cracking bloke) we were both told delivery would be 1 week to him (Thurs) for Friday delivery to me.
Thursday came and no delivery at all to Trevor, this meant lost time and money for him, and lost time for me (and no washer). He rang ISE and was told they were sorry, delivery to him would now be Monday and therefore Tuesday to me.
Monday came, and they delivered to Trev a shiny new ISE 10………………………..Tumble Dryer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This again had cost him money and time, and we were both annoyed to say the least. Trev contacted ISE again which led to more profuse apologies. This time he was assured of a personal delivery on Wednesday for delivery to me Friday, and lo and behold it actually arrived and is now looking lovely in my Kitchen ๐So the moral of the tale is, awesome washing machine, even better than expected.
However……………………..don’t expect John Lewis levels of delivery. Not because of the local repair guys, but because ISE’s logistics/distribution is lacking slightly.
Come on guys you are so near to having the perfect product/ethos don’t let silly things like the above drag you down, get it sorted !8OOh and one other thing, hopefully you trade guys can help with. There is no warranty registration card in with the instructions, I tried phoning ISE but there was no answer? Do I need one, and if so where do I get one from?
Thanks so much, hope the review helps.
If anyone has any questions or wants any info then just ask away, cheers!

Hi Alan,
Many thanks for the kind comments.
It so happens I actually know something about this delivery, mainly because someone (who will remain nameless) almost broke their keyboard throwing it at the wall after the dryer turned up instead of a washer! The person concerned was not a happy teddy and made their displeasure well known to the haulage company, who picked the wrong machine for delivery.
I honestly don’t know what went wrong with the initial delivery as I am unaware of that, I only know about the second c**k-up as I had to fetch coffee although valium or a stiff drink may have been more appropriate.
All the staff in ISE do try really, really hard to make things happen as they should but, on occasion, “stuff” happens that they just can’t control. But trust me, that doesn’t mean to say they don’t get just as, if not more, hacked off about it than anyone else.
The reason I do know about this particular instance is because it was brought to my attention and that of the ISE MD as well. He is looking into it as it was a simple picking error that should not have happened.
The comments are noted however and I’m actually quite happy to get the feedback as it will hopefully prevent a repeat.

No worries on the feedback, I know a certain someone was very displeased with the dryer delivery also ๐ฟ !
Bless that person though, and the MD of ISE, as it all got sorted pretty quick after that mistake. ๐
I’m not oblivious to human error occuring, and I can sympathise, in all fairness I’ve had worse experiences with C***ys etc. and given what you’ve all strived to set up, I can imagine you guys do get frustrated as hell when someone out of your control drops a b****ck ๐ณ
I just thought i’d be honest about what had gone on, and also in my profession I can’t afford to make any mistakes like that, so maybe I’m a harsher judge than most.
The washer is awesome though, can’t stop doing laundry ๐ฎ !!!!!!!
Alan
P.s. Huge thanks and massive gratitude goes out to yourself and some of the other guys who regularly contribute on here. Never would have made such a wise choice if it wasn’t for you all. Thanks for your sound, and unbiased help ๐

Yup, the one bit of the whole thing which we don’t have total control of is the bit between the warehouse and the vendor……… Not everyone shares our standards, unfortunately.
The machines are amazing. I’m an ISE agent and my normal patch is North Leeds and into the countryside a bit. I will go anywhere in Yorkshire to deliver a 10 machine on an evening, in the full confidence that I can install it, demonstrate it, have a chat and a cup of tea and not see the machine again for a long time.

The ISE10 is superb bit of kit. Solidly built (makes you realize the tat that is on sale nowadays) and so quiet that the other day I had to check the machine was actually on.
I guess the real satisfaction of owning an ISE10 is knowing that you’ve made a sensible, long-term purchase.
We always recommend to friends even if they do think we’re a bit mad paying so much extra for a marque they’ve never heard of.

Yeah I know what you mean, I think some of our friends and family wanted to have us committed!
The conversation kinda goes like this:
“You do know you can get (insert generic ยฃ200- ยฃ300 washer here) for ยฃ199 at (insert generic white goods store here!). Why spend that much?”I’m sure we’ll have the last laugh ๐ Just gotta be patient!
I think that the whole package sells itself, shame that some people will always ride the cheap washer lottery.
Cheers

Shame you didn’t get ours to deliver to the Richmond area! The guys who came (last Monday) brought it on time and fitted it but didn’t do any demo even when asked to do so. Furthermore you could have had another cuppa today when you came to fix it as we have an F3 and an F1 error and a wet floor, – 1 week in!
You can still come now and fix it, if you want, as the guy who rang and left a message didn’t leave a number for us to ring him back on!
reply here and you can have my number.

Hi Hotpointless,
F1 – Door not closed or closed correctly.
F3 – Not draining or drain timeout.
Can you tell me a bit more about how these appeared as I may be able to help with them as they can be caused by silly things?
Also, can you send me your comments on the delivery please as it will be looked into, I can assure you it will be.

The machine was on a wash cycle and seemed to get through most of it, having said that I wasn’t watching carefully. F1 came up so I tried to drain it. The cycle went on and then the door opened and water came out, not having drained. F3 was about the same. The delivery men were very good, removing all of the packaging before the machine came into the house. They set the machine in place and connected the cold water supply asking me to check that there were no leaks, they fitted the hose into plastic outlet at above workbench height. I asked if they were going to give me a demonstration, they shrugged their shoulders and said nicely that they don’t do that.

Just thought I’d add my two-penneth having had our ISE10 Washing Machine for a few weeks now.
It’s built like a tank. It sits solidly and securely on the floor, and does not move around (unlike the old Bosch). It also vibrates less than the old machine. It’s easy and clear to use, and I really like being able to interrupt the program, change elements of the program, add/remove wash items, or even change program, in flight. And it’s fast; our typical washes take just over 1hr now, rather than 2hrs previously.
It’s really quiet when washing, thanks to the brushless induction motor, less so when spinning at 1600rpm, but then we were used to ‘only’ 1000rpm levels previously. I would agree with the OP that it seems louder than our old Bosch when filling, even allowing for the high water pressure here.
The door can take a little getting used to; because it’s mounted on the suspended tub, rather than the outer casing, it ‘gives’ a little when you shut it; you have to shut it firmly but without slamming or ‘throwing’ the door, otherwise it doesn’t always catch first time.
The one thing I’d say it was missing is some kind of extra skirt between the outer case and the tub just under the inner door; whilst it hasn’t happened yet, I can foresee small items dropping down the small gap and being very difficult to retrieve. We protect against it by rolling up a tea towel and laying it in the gap for unloading (actually it’s there all the time, and sometimes starts to slip down itself.)
But, this is a minor ‘con’. Otherwise, it feels like a very good, very solid machine that should give years of service.
One final point; many thanks to Steve (a.k.a. Aqualectric, a member of the forum I believe) who went well past the call of duty to deliver, install and fully demonstrate our machine on a Monday evening, and take away the old one, when he was accidentally double-booked in the day by ‘the management’ at home! A nicer guy, and a better delivery and installation, you couldn’t ask for.

took the plunge last week after the reveiws and risked the wait, was due for delivery to my reseller this morning. ISE just advised him it will not be here today, maybe tomorrow afternoon ๐ก . Spoke to them diectly and it appears there is little they can do (driver from delivery company did not turn up and no contingency), not happy as my 4 kids are getting dirtier by the day !!, I could have picked up a Miele last thursday. If they want to compete they need to sort the deliveries out before others give up, I mean waiting a week for an appliance ???!!??

The ISE 10 is a fabulous machine and it will give years of good service. And if there is a problem, then we will back it up with good service too. ๐
The problems that happen with deliveries happen to all companies. We can only do so much once the machines are dispatched. The frustration felt by the customer is double for the supplier as he feels frustration and embarrassment. We can only apologise as these things have a habit of happening when you can least afford them to. ๐

Well we have had the ISE 10 for a month now and it will have completed over 60 washes in that time, in a word this machine is excellent !. Yes delivery was protracted ๐ but the qualities that really stand this apart are the speed and quality of the wash along with the incredible non movement of the machine casing on the 1600 spin! ๐ฏ Controls are a breeze and so simple I have even been allowed to drive it once or twice myself!.
A couple of things I would note are that the water pump is louder than the outgoing model and also the water cut off after filling is very abrupt and clangs all the cold water pipes in our house, not ideal when on a 2am economy 7 run. ๐ฏ
However I feel that I have made the right long term decision and with 4 kids I have peace of mind for the next 10 years, oh and as if in sympathy for our departed AEG (Electrolux / Zanussi :rolls: ) washing machine our AEG tumble dryer is now grumbling, the ISE10 could be looking for a utility room buddie soonโฆ

Had one of my customers waited some 4-5 weeks for their ISE10 and was happy to do so.

Hi again,
sorry for pushing this older thread back to the fore but having had the ISE 10 1606 for a year now I thought I’d give people an update about how its getting on! ๐
Obviously, (as I’ve not long discovered), this review relates to the now discontinued 1606, which has been replaced by the shiny new 1607. I’m assuming a lot of the internals are still the same though, so I think the feedback is relevant. (If Ken can post what the differences are beyond the drum then I’d be ever so grateful because I’m really envious of those buying the new machine!!)
So a year in and I can honestly say that the ISE is without doubt amazing by its absence! By that I mean, I load it up, set the program and the washing gets done. Its quiet, super efficient and most importantly washes clothes perfectly. I’ve not really owned an appliance thats given me so little problem in its first year of service,*touch wood* , long may it continue.
In response to a few posts on here, including my own original comments, if its loud on filling then its all to do with your mains water pressure not the machine. I have moved house, the filling was always noisy before, but now I barely notice it. The reason being that I have a lower pressure here, can’t really blame ISE for that then. Also in terms of operation a few people say that its loud in use, but I’d say the opposite is true, to the point that I find myself checking that its still on!
All in all, a superb machine and well worth buying, hopefully I won’t be posting about it on here now for a few years, at least not until I do my five year update anyway!!
Cheers
Alan
