I have a DC07 and the solid wand is stuck in the handle, along with the squidgy bit that goes on the top of the hose. The hose has separated from it’s squidgy bit and now slides up and down the solid wand. I was looking to replace the hose, but can’t do this until I can remove the solid metal wand.
I’ve tried:
Pulling
Twisting
Lots of fairy liquid
Hot water
Banging it against something.I cannot get it to budge – it doesn’t even move at all. Well and truely wedged.
Any ideas please?

Hi Amber,
That happens on those I’m afraid and the only cure is a new handle. 🙁
There are various colours as usual with Dyson and they should mostly all be listed on this page.
They’re all ex-stock so usually ship in a couple of days.
The hose is this one.

Wow, thanks for the super quick reply – even if it was not what I wanted to hear!
That mean I am going to have to get a new hose AND handle/wand. I might just make do with the sliding hose and save my money. I’ve had the beast for around 4 years now, so it is bound to die soon anyway!
But thanks again for taking the time out to tell me to give up 😉
