ParticipantDoes anyone have a good supply for the above ?
Maybe if we can get a good number of people needing replacements we could get a good deal somewhere.
Dave.

KeymasterYep, Scott was on about a good one, a Robin 2 IIRC.
Anymore info on that Scott, or can you point us in the right direction?

ParticipantDave.
Have a word with your local Devondale Electrical suppliers. They have beaten all prices I’ve ever been qouted, there is one company that supplies Service Force & supposed to give a preferential rate, Devondale will beat it.
Give them a bell & put the prices up on here if you like, I would do it myself, but due to poor sickly engineers that are unable to turn out a days work, I’m out on the road.

Faxed this morning, I will get any details up here as soon as I recieve them. I also recieved a reply from Chris Hayter as I asked the question of DASA as well. The details of a company he gave me are:
GMC-Instruments ( UK ) Ltd
Priest House
Priest Street
Cradley Heath
BIRMINGHAM B64 6JN
01384 638822I’ll wait for the Devondale reply and play them off against each other, see what we can come up with 😉

ParticipantAs Alex rightly said, Devondale have come up with the best deal.
Robon KMP4116DL at £165 plus VAT. If anyone knows of a better deal please post it or if these meters and the price are OK, could I have the definite numbers of units to order please.
Thanks
Dave.

ParticipantI have looked at this meter on various web sites, i cannot find in the technical spec if it has the d-loc feature. instead of the Robin KMP4116DL you would be better looking at, the KMP 4120DLEarth Loop Impedance Tester. It features a 0.01R Ohm resolution, and has d-loc, it is the one i use and in the write up it states:- This remains the only tester of its type able to perform loop tests without tripping most passive RCD’s. (http://www.instrotech.com/page19.pdf ).
Having d-loc is an important feature for appliance engineers. It still trips out some very sensitive systems, but in practice i have found this to be a rare occasion. It has a very simple operation.
💡 Insulation testers
On calibration issues, for those people who have several meters, why not get a test box made up, with a 2ohm and 2 Mohm resistances, have this calibrated, and use it as a check box on a regular basis, recording the results. this will save you submitting all your insulation testers for calibration saving you money. I think hotpoint may even have a part number for this item.November 5, 2003 at 9:18 pm #105871sumphose
ParticipantWhen robin did a presentation in the past, the chap set up a special deal for us at the meeting. When i approached the company,he recommended, i found they were selling them cheaper, than the DASA deal Their web address is http://www.test-hire.co.uk/ I would think they may come down in price for quantity. They are local to me if it is of any help. I have bought some items from them, they order them in and takes about a week. 8)

Did anyone happen to print this thread off by any chance ?
When the site went belly up a few weeks ago it seems that any new posts after the one on Nov 6th have dissapeared (this thread only ) 😥
Unless Ken has a back up copy of individual threads 😉
Dave.

ParticipantHas anyone looked at installation testers by a company called Metrel? I scrapped my Robin Megger when the lead nulling kept going wrong (important when testing R1+R2 continuity). I have been using this tester now for 18 months. These are distributed by Edmunson Electrical Ltd. They are imported by Alpha Tek in Manchester.
