ParticipantHi,
I have a Bosch WFX2867GB washing machine which appears to be tripping the circuit breaker during the water heating cycle. I have a multimeter and would like to check the heater resistance but I’m not clear where the main heater wires are fed from. It looks as if there is a relay (top right hand corner at the back) which switches the supply to the heater but I’m not sure. Please can someone confirm this or point me in the right direction and also tell me what resistance I should expect to see through the heater element?
Many thanks,

ParticipantThe heater element should be between 27 – 33 ohms. TBH , it is better to test at the heater terminals themselves……..BUT PLEASE REMEMBER TO POWER OFF AND UNPLUG IF YOU’RE GOING TO DO ANY TESTING
….and if the appliance is tripping approx 7 – 10 mins into a wash then 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} chance its the heater elementHTH

Many thanks for the ohmic value, its definitely on the low side (somewhere between 16 and 22 ohms… my meter needs calibrating!!) and you’re spot on about tripping 7 to 10 minutes into the wash cycle. I’ve been searching on the internet for a spare part and believe the correct Bosch part number to be 265961…. please could you/are you able to confirm and can you recommend a supplier? Ideally I need to source a part in the next couple of days.
Best regards,

part number 265961. try the shop@ on the left. However, need full model number to be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure of part number. Model number should read WFX2667GB/10 or a different number at the end.
E-mail shop@ giving full details and they will give you a price
plug out of courseSeptember 22, 2009 at 6:14 pm #297706Wizz

ParticipantYou could check between the heater terminals and earth…..Should be almost infinite resistance but any kind of reading and there’s the prob. Element probably has a hole in it and is shorting to earth when power is applied to the element during the heating phase .

Ok guys, I’ve fitted a new heater element but sadly it still trips the MCB !! If anything it may have improved very slightly because it hasn’t tripped yet on a 30 degree wash. The fault seems to be more to do with drawing too much current rather than shorting to earth because the RCB never trips. Has anyone got any other suggestions please?
Many thanks,
