Hi all, just received a AEG/Electrolux Lavamat 72850A yesterday as old M/C was leaking. Has E10 errors and problems (inlet valve problem), even though water came in fairly slowly.

Have attached hose as per manufacturer instructions, dozens of times, checked for blockages behind hose filters etc., nothing, brand new. Anyway tonight I disassembled Aquastop unit on hose (not the electrical type) and reassembled… and water seems to be going in fine now… BUT here’s my problem:

I am not sure which way the little magnet should go into the unit! It works now but not sure if proper protection is enabled with the way I put the magnet in!

    Help, thanks, Jed

I’ve found those things to be more trouble than they are worth. I usually just fit an ordinary hose instead, especially on integrated machines that can’t readily be pulled out.
