This is probably obsolete but thought it worth a try in case anyone knows. It’s 20? years old maybe more. The stat sits on the shoulder of the round element at the back. Presumably it’s a n/c stat as the wires to it have lost their insulation and are effectively fused together and this causes the dryer to get so hot as to melt a plastic zip.
Connect list a white stat 100deg and a safety stat unspecified. Both special order. What are the chances?

I rang Gias and they assured me that the part I require is 06012018. I ordered this and it has arrived. However, it is a totally different type of stat than the one in the machine. The original is a round, enclosed type about an inch diameter. The new one is an open Klixon type like you used to find stuck on old Creda elements of the wire type. I rang them again and explained the situation and they assured me it is the correct part. 😕
I asked if they could guarantee that it would be safe and not catch fire. The person on the ‘phone did not seem able to understand my dilemma.
They said if I wanted to return it I could do so but would not be refunded for the postage (£2.99) they had paid to send it to me.
Oh well. Just more cr@p treatment from suppliers.
    Mike.
